North Harbours' U19 squad has been named ahead of this week’s Jock Hobbs Memorial National U19 Tournament getting underway.
The tournament, in its second year, will take place at Owen Delany Park, Taupo over three match days on 27 and 30 September and 3 October.
Harbour, by virtue of the win last weekend over Auckland, go into the competition as top qualifiers from our region. This means HarbOUR TEAM play Otago on Sun 27th (4.20pm) Live on Sky
All teams then head in to a Semi Final on Wed 30th and a Final on Sat 3 Oct. Should HarbOUR TEAM beat Otago then the Semi final match will also be Live on Sky (4.20pm)
“This is a strong group of boys. Our last hit-out against Auckland last weekend showed we had both the maturity and the strength to be competitive”.
“The tournament provides a great opportunity for our province’s young players to improve their skills and continue their rugby development. It is a fantastic opportunity to test their talent against players from a similar age group and I know they are really looking forward to the challenge in Taupo.”
The tournament provided a pathway for emerging players and provided them with every reason to stay in the game and aim for higher honours, such as their full Provincial Union side and NZ U20 side.
