How to Make Contact With a Club

You may have a good relationship with your local club from your Junior Rugby days, good club/school links or through family/friends connections. If not, give the Club Contact persons detailed below a call - http://www.harbourrugby.co.nz/webpages/club-contacts/ and checkout their club website for pre-season training dates/times or registration nights in February. For social and travel reasons it is recommended you register with your local club.

Under 21

The Under 21 grade is a very competitive competition for 18, 19 and 20 year olds which is the Age Group grade in North Harbour. This open weight grade provides young players the opportunity to mature physically and develop skills required to play in the senior grades. Under 21 rugby is often very open in nature, fiercely contested and always enjoyable. The grade provides a stepping stone into senior club rugby and many clubs use Under 21 players to provide reserves for the Premier grade.

Under 85Kg

The Under 85Kg grade is a long standing senior grade in North Harbour club rugby with 8 to 10 teams and provides opportunities for light-weight school leavers and also for older players. Secondary School rugby caters for age and weight restricted rugby and this grade will allow small players to develop their skills in a weight-restricted environment against similarly sized players. Due to its very competitive and fast moving nature this grade will prepare players for other senior grades but also is suited to the player who is studying, is self-employed or has demanding work requirements.

Women

North Harbour club rugby has Womens teams who participate in a Greater Auckland women’s competition playing Auckland, Counties-Manukau and Waikato teams. This is strong and vibrant competition which has teams of all skill levels.
